Obituary of Frank Lewis Lynch

Frank L. Lynch III passed away June 25, 2020 from cancer. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on June 8, 1947, to Frank Lynch II and Estelle Nelson Lynch. His memories of Illinois were of music being played at home. The family moved to Barnstable, MA, where lessons learned from granddad Nelson stayed with him for life. He had a great childhood typical of the 1960's and managed to drive sister Verna and family a lot crazy. Frank attended Barnstable High School, class of 1965. That Spring he joined his brother Bob enlisting in the Navy. He tried submarine duty, but preferred his time truck driving in the Philippines. In 1968, from the US Edison he was assigned 6 months of brown water Navy in Vietnam. He was on the river the day of the Hobart incident. He would say his favorite part of the Navy was getting out in Dec 1968, but maintained friendships and pride in serving his country. He worked from Ohio to Virginia before settling back on the Cape where he married Vivien and started his family. He worked from then on for himself, plus a series of many jobs. His independent spirit led him to Maine in 1986 and his second family. He started Finch Sporting in 1995 and focused on his interest in hunting and guns. He is survived by children: Nikki Lynch of Barnstable, MA, Laurie Lynch of Charlotte, NC, Randy Lynch and wife Riina of Charlotte NC, Frank Lynch IV of Leeds, ME, and Valeri Buschor and Husband Chris of Celina, OH. Companion, Cindy Moxcey, brothers Bob and wife Margie of Taylor SC, and Mac Lynch and wife Beth of Apex, NC, sister Verna and husband Stephen Butcher of Spring, TX. Grandchildren: Kyle, Kelin, Dillon, Feona, Christian, Jamie, Vivien, Avery, Ivy, Emma, Kobe, Frank V, and Melanie. His nephew Jacob and niece Katie were close. Graveside service in late August at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
