Obituary of Harland E. Woodward Jr.
Harland “Howie” Woodward Jr.
Harland passed away on December 12 at Northland Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after a three-week stay in the Intensive Care Unit with his long-term partner, Joan Fox, at his side.
He was born in Dover-Foxcroft in 1966 and lived in Atkinson for his early years. Harland graduated from Penquis High School in Milo. After high school he attended Job Corps in Bangor, where he began his passion for automotives.
Harland was employed by Ames Home Center in Canaan. Harland held several jobs as a truck driver and equipment operator. He would also help anybody in the community with house repairs, farm work, and equipment repair. He loved teaching his grandsons hunting, mechanics and carpentry.
Harland is survived by brothers and sisters; Mike (Peggy), Ricky (Katherine), Donnie (Joyce), Sharon (partner Brian) and Kristy (Karl) as well as aunts, uncles several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by Joan Fox of Athens, her son Jason, and daughter-in-law Lisa and her sons. He is also survived by best friends; Greg, Llew.
Harland is predeceased by his parents, Harland Sr. and Wanita; Joan's son Ryan; friends Mike Cipriano, and Bob Post.
Harland loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and carpentry. He was building a camp at the time of his death.
Services will be held in May with arrangements to be announced at a later date.
