Robert Scott Bowden 1947-2024

Robert S. Bowden, (Bobby) 77, of Augusta, ME, passed away while at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Bangor, ME on October 21, 2024.

He was born in Augusta, ME June 30, 1947, to Thomas Scott Bowden (Scotty) and Marie Ida Bowden (Ida).

Bob attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, then went to Cony High School. He served our Country in the Military for 3 years and his community for 29 years with the Augusta Police Department, he also ran the Parking District for many years.

Bob met the love of his life, Linda Gerard when they were very young, and were married in 1966 by a justice of the peace.

Bob and Linda had 2 children Belinda and Thomas, who, along with their families, will truly miss him. He had 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Bob was an active member of St Michael Catholic Parish, where he previously served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Everyone who knew Bob knew how much he loved motorcycles, guns, guitars, long rides, lawn sales, along with many other hobbies. There was no one hobby he loved more than the other really.

Bob will always be remembered for his ability to listen and help people, never once expecting anything in return. We couldn't have asked for a better Dad and husband and will miss him every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

He is predeceased by his parents, and brother Lloyd Bowden.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 58 years Linda Bowden, his daughter Belinda, her husband John Harfoush, his son Thomas and wife Becky Bowden, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his brother Donald Bowden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 7th, 10:00 AM at the St. Augustine Church in Augusta. Catholic Rite of Committal will follow at 12:00 PM in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Avenue Augusta, ME.
