Obituary of Vladimir Vladimiroff
Vladimir Vladimiroff of Harpswell passed away on September 26th, 2024, at his cabin on Enchanted Pond in Maine.
Born on May 27th, 1943 in Paris, France, to ballet dancers Serge and Vera Vladimiroff, he and his family immigrated to the United States in June of 1946 aboard the SS Joseph Stanton. He graduated from Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY in 1961, and pursued philosophy, ballet, music and sculpture at the University of California at Berkeley and C.W. Post in Greenvale, NY in the mid sixties.
Vlad was an avid fly fisherman, house builder, volunteer fireman, Upward Bound volunteer and lover of art and music. He was a true outdoorsman and ran the Bulldog Camps sporting camps from 1973 to 2006. He had many close friends with whom he shared his wisdom, dry humor and kind and caring nature.
Vladimir was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Charrier Vladimiroff, and survived by his partner Patricia Brissette of Boston, MA, brother, Theodore Vladimiroff of Newton, NJ, son, Serge (Lynda) Vladimiroff of Portland, ME, five step-children: Frederic (Lisa) Davis of Sacramento, CA; Stephen (Carrie) Davis of Marshall, MN; Martha Davis of El Cerrito, CA; Nathan (Jennifer) Taubenberger of Alexandria,VA; Tanya (Johnta) Tigner of Boston, MA; and eight step-grandchildren: Toby, Caleb, Celeste, Nolan, Grant, Gabrielle, Jace and Jaxon.
A celebration of life will be held at the Cram Alumni House at 83 Federal Street in Brunswick, ME on Sunday, April 6th, 2025 from 1pm - 5pm. In remembrance, charitable donations can be made to the Dory Fund. The Dory Fund supports first-generation college bound students from Maine families who are enrolled in Bowdoin Upward Bound.
