Obituary of Marion K. Hill

Marion Katherine Hill (née MacGrath), 78, of Warren, Maine, passed away peacefully after a long illness. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Marion was a passionate advocate for organic gardening and beekeeping. She was deeply attuned to the rhythm of the seasons and possessed extensive knowledge of wildlife, especially the birds and plants of the midcoast region.

Marion was the valedictorian of her high school class and earned a full scholarship to study German at Douglas College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1965, she married Charles L. Hill in Middlesex, New Jersey. In 1971, Marion, Charles, and their young family moved to Narragansett, Rhode Island, and then to Maine in 1976.

Marion is survived by her husband, Charles; her sons, Brian (and his wife Thuy), Eric, and Sean (and his wife Marcela Quintana); and her daughter, Kirsten (and her husband Andy Winzelberg). She was a cherished grandmother to her three granddaughters, Calia Hill, Eliana Hill, and Piper Hill, and her grandson, Andrew Quintana.

Marion dedicated herself to caring for her husband, running their business, Meadow Mountain Designs, and maintaining their home and garden. Her passion for nature and gardening will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Memories and condolences may be shared on her tribute wall.
