Obituary of Maynard Edward Gorden
Maynard Edward Gorden, 72, passed away at his residence in Wayne, Maine, on May 23, 2024. He fought a difficult battle with cancer, but despite this, he was always more concerned about his wife, Wendy Gorden, who is also battling cancer. It shows how caring and selfless he was, always looking out for others.
Throughout his life, Maynard worked in the construction and carpentry industries, but he was also known as 'the pigman' due to his passion for raising pigs for meat and his catering business. Without a doubt, he was a hard worker, whose hands were never idle.
Maynard is predeceased by his father Maynard Edmond and his mother Elizabeth Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Gorden; his brothers Stewart Gorden, Sherman Gorden and wife Rhonda Douglas; his nephews Joshua and Jason; great-nephews Remington and Hunter; and cousin Peter Robinson. Maynard also leaves behind his best friends Dale LaRochelle, Ken Whittier, Kurt Gregory, and Mike Mathews, as well as his three fur babies Buster, Josie, and Diezel.
Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Humane Society in Augusta, Maine, or the American Cancer Society. The family also wanted to share a special thanks to Beacon Hospice.
He will be and is greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in Wayne, Maine. The date and time will be announced by the family at a later date.
