Charlie and I met Mort from being Kim’s neighbor for over 20 years in Durham, NC. When Mort would come to town for a visit we would be sure to schedule a card game! We loved playing with Mort, he was a card shark and even had his own card game - ‘Mort’s game’!
On a trip to ME, Charlie and I stopped in to visit Mort, Jean, Greg and Michael. We were welcomed with coffee and pastries and then treated to an afternoon on the boat with lobster rolls and our group’s first citing of an Ocean Sun fish.
Mort’s smile and sense of humor will not be forgotten. He always made you smile with him! He was such a great guy!
We will cherish these and many other great memories of spending time with Mort over the years and will miss him deeply.
Please know we are thinking of you all during this difficult time. Our hearts go out to all of the family!
Love, Marvelyn and Charlie

Mr Strom was our class advisor for Class of 1964 at Camden High School. He was an amazing man. Always gave his full attention to everyone. He attended our 50th and we all had so much fun. So many pictures and memories shared. Always grateful for all we learned from him. Will be forever in our hearts.

I remember the day that, on behalf of Friends of CSD, I was able to gleefully share with Mort and Jean that the 800 seat auditorium at the new Camden Hills High School would be named for them as "The Strom Auditorium". They were humbled and thrilled. It was a very fitting tribute to a couple which had given so much. Now "The Strom" holds a dear place in this community, as do memories of Mort.

Mort Strom embodied the heart and spirit of the Pine Tree State: the importance of community service; enjoyment and preservation of its natural resources; delight with young and old alike.
We are grateful that he served as anchor of civility and grace at the high school and community at large.

Dear Stroms, With great sorrow I read about Mort's passing. From the wonderful obituary I learned that he was an even greater guy than I thought. It was my privilege to have known him, taught with him, go rabbit hunting with him, talk Bruins with him. It was just he and Dan on the faculty who shared my passion. I will always remember at his retirement, Greg and Mike performing Teach Your Children Well. And his children included many generation of students. My most sincere condolences to all of you. Mort was a good friend for many years while we were residents of Camden and one of his last "gold leaf" signs - which marked the entrance to our driveway at 555 Belfast Road in Camden, is proudly displayed on one of the doors in our house in Portland. God Speed Mort!
