Uncle Arnie led a busy and industrious life, obviously a life of service on so many levels. I must admit to being just a little bit intimidated by his larger than life persona when I was a small child. But that changed as I grew and matured into a deep respect and even admiration for this dear uncle. Though my siblings and I numbered six (the Yorks), our extended family was fairly small. Which made them all the more special because we actually got to know and love one another over the years in ways that sometimes larger families can't. When Uncle Arnie passed, he closed out a generation of dear Aunts and Uncles for our family. He will be missed by friends, family, and the community at large that he so faithfully served. He was a hard worker and held strong values that he lived by. He was a sweet little brother to our mom (Sylvia) and our Aunt Freda judging from the stories they told. And let me not fail to mention his sometimes understated but always delightful sense of humor! Sincere condolences to Janice and all the family. Love, Dawna and family Escalon, CA
