Obituary of Peter E. Knight

Peter E Knight of Appleton Maine passed away on December 21, 2023 at the Sussman House in Rockport Maine.  He is survived by his wife Connie Lundy, son and daughter-in-law David and Helena Yarosis and granddaughters Miranda and Jenna of Rockport Maine.

Peter was the son of Sylvia and Leonard Knight, and he was born in New Zealand in 1947.  Peter was one of 11 children, and is survived by his sisters Kerry, Karen and Sandra and his brother Lyndsay in New Zealand; his brothers Digger, Chris, Wade and Paul in Australia.  Brother David (deceased) also lived in Australia.

Peter leaves behind him in New Zealand, his daughter Kim.  His daughter Leigh (deceased), and granddaughters Leesa, ( who made it to his bedside in Maine prior to his passing). Sarah Leigh, and grandsons Kyle and Cody.  His great grandaughter Macey, and great grandson Kyrie.

Peter had a great love of horses and began his training to be a jockey at 14 years of age.  He loved bonfires, fishing, camping, cooking, keeping his lawn “tidy”, watching Judge Judy and all sports, bluegrass festivals, traveling, family, friends, and most of all his wife Connie.

A celebration of life will be held in 2024.  Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute wall.
