Jerry F. Smith  Augusta – Maine

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my husband, Jerry Smith, 85. He passed away peacefully at Togus Springs Hospice on the morning of December 1, 2023, following a long battle with Dementia.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 19, 1938, the son of the late Thomas & Edna Smith. Jerry served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He worked many years for Scott Paper as a truck driver. Jerry enjoyed going to the coast to watch the ships roll in, taking rides, watching the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, and dinner from the Red Barn and Chinese.

Besides his parents, Jerry is predeceased by his first wife Donna, children Duane Smith, Eric Smith, Christine Hebert Blankenship, Chad Hebert, granddaughter Mandy Rich, and his Aunt Vi & Christopher Burns.

He is survived by his wife Theresa, daughters Denise (Glen) Rich, LeEtta (Tim) Graham, Valerie (Jamie) Shelley, Deb and Sue, Melissa (Colby) Lawrence, Rebecca Zak & close friend Jeffrey Dunlap, Daughter-in-laws Jennifer (Clark) Hebert and Paula (Trujillo) Smith, son-in-law Billy Blankenship, brother Thomas Jr. and Claudia Smith; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great grandchildren, which he loved them all.

A special thanks to Beacon Hospice and Togus Springs for their wonderful care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.  Until we meet again.
