In over 12 years of school together my memories are always of Debbie’s laughter and smiles. She hosted epic PJ parties with Mom Eunice making stacks of French toast for a gaggle of girls giggling through the night in the Miles’ living room. Remember Debbie (and Anne) teaching us the songs from their years attending Camp Fair Haven. A beautiful family of five girls. Her Mom and my Dad went to school together and her Dad and mine competed on small town sports teams and later worked together. Clinton bonds run strong throughout generations. My deepest condolences to Elizabeth, Andrea, and Joan and their families.

Debbie was a very special person. She loved life and was always filled with joy and energy. She never met a stranger. She was quick-witted, charming, and fun-loving. I remember our great times at the Clinton Baptist youth group, various outings, and our years of counseling at Camp Fair Haven. She will remain forever in my heart as a buoyant, cheerful, and happy young woman who made others laugh and brightened the world with her goodness and her smile.

We had an anniversary celebration for Lakeview church at the conference center in Northport, and I believe this photo was taken then.

Deb was a good friend to me for around 30 years.
She used her creative talents to make gifts and crafts, especially when she worked at Noble Clay. I have precious ornaments that she made, in the shape of hands, a dove, and other designs. She made us a beautifully glazed clay tide clock.
We enjoyed getaways to Payson Park, Beech Hill, and many other places. We had precious times praying together and talking about the Lord Jesus Christ. We loved singing along with the radio, and she shared with me an enthusiasm for Star Trek and spinoff shows. We had some overnights, too, that were a lot of fun. When I had a brain trauma around 2012, she came to the house to help and keep me company.
Deb’s 60th birthday in Clinton was extra special. A few photos are here from that day.
We went to church together and she enjoyed it very much, all the way up to the “Covid” days.
Deb was a precious treasure of a friend. Though it was difficult to see her light dwindle, I am glad that she is aglow now in the presence of our dear Lord, in whom we are sisters with all those who trust in Him for salvation.
