Dorothy Beatrice Johnson Knowlton, 94, peacefully passed away with her children by her side on July 22, 2023, at the Sussman House in Rockport Maine.

Dottie lived most of her life on the island of Vinalhaven Maine, where she was born on August 8, 1928.

She was the daughter of Vera Trefry Johnson and Vaughn Emery Johnson. She loved her family fiercely.

She was pre-deceased by her parents; brother Norman Johnson; husband of many years Albert Knowlton Sr.; and her beloved grandson, Adam Mark Knowlton.

Dottie is survived by her son, Albert L. Knowlton Jr. and his wife Mary; daughter Janet Knowlton and wife Sheri Crouse; four grandchildren Albert L. Knowlton III, (Missy), Elizabeth Cummings (Jason), Robert Arey (Nicole), and Kelly-Anna Orozco (Ryan); ten great-grandchildren Marissa (Brian) Spencer (Summer) Abigayle (Caleb) Alexia, Hope, Kaeli, Kamryn, Gabriel, Garrett, and Grace; three great-great-grandchildren, Atlas, Aurora, and Forrest.

A memorial reception will be held from 11 to 1 pm on August 26, 2023, at Direct Cremation of Maine 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Me.
