I met John in 2010 in Rockland. We became very close friends. Laughing and reminiscing over the past. He always opened his home to friends and some strangers to help if they needed a place to sleep or a person to talk to. John's intellect was outstanding despite his disabilities. I loved our conversations. He gave my Grand Daughter when she was about 6 a NY Yankees Rookies Card of either Jeeter or ARod.
He also explained to her about a " Stroke" as she was curious why he walked differently. She's is 13 now and that conversation had a profound affect with her kindness towards others with disabilities. John and I enjoyed the " Beach" and my favorite Beach is Pemaquid and he was proud to share his parents lived there. He loved Halloween! He would decorate his Apt. and pass out candy to all the kids and adult kids too! I will miss his sense of humor, and his resilience with his disabilities. It was his ability and not his disabilities that those who knew him will remember! Rest Easy My Friend. As you called me Coo Coo Kelly ♥
