Obituary of Maureen A McDonough

Standish- Maureen Ann McDonough, 65 of Windham passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2023 in Standish. "Mo" was born on June 29, 1957, a daughter of the late Richard J. and Joan L. (Labbe) McDonough of Portland.

 

She graduated from Portland High School in 1975, then worked for MMC as a Unit Secretary, Plastic and Hand Surgical Associates and Dermatology Associates (from where she retired in 2022) as a Professional Coder. She also had a Dog Sitting Business which was one of her passions in life. She enjoyed traveling to visit friends, going on road trips and being with her family. She was a longtime member of the BPOE#188, and the American Academy of Professional Coders at the National level and at the local level for which she held the positions of Treasurer and New Membership Development.  She also was Past Treasurer of the Newhall Court Condo Association.

 

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by grandparents Michael and Mary (Canavan) McDonough, Norman and Arlene (Fernald) Nelson and Arthur Labbe, an Aunt Carol L. (Nelson) Schiffman, Uncles Alfred McDonough, Gary and Alfred Labbe, Brian and Michael Nelson and Brother in Law, James A. Richards. 

 

Survivors include Sisters, Rosemarie (Brad) Campbell; Elizabeth J. Richards; Melissa McDonough; Brother, Michael A. (Anita) McDonough. Uncles, Craig Nelson and William E. Schiffman, Jr..  Nieces and Nephews, Samantha L. (Jason) Vetterline; James A. Richards, II, Godchild Mary M. McDonough and fiance Michael Hunter; Courtney N. Richards and fiance Christopher Peterson; Stephanie M. McDonough and fiance Brandon Harmon. Grand Niece and Nephews, Adam, Bronson, Bentleigh, Colton, Tanner, Colby, Ryder and Braxton.

 

She will greatly missed by Godchild Daniel Gutierrez and friends, Jackie; Mary; Mark D. and Mark O.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 2-5 pm at the Eagles Club, 184 St. John Street, Portland.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland or the Charity of your choice.
