Obituary of Cleta Ursula Blair
Cleta Ursula (Rosacker) Marquis Blair, died on April 8, 2023, in Waterville, ME following a valiant battle with health issues.
She was born May 11, 1945, in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Robert W. and Shirley (Steece) Rosacker.
She grew up on Saunders Point in Niantic, Connecticut and was a graduate of New London High School. She spent many years of her youth as a member of the Civil Air Patrol which provided her with many memorable and cherished experiences.
Cleta later moved to Brewer where she raised her 2 sons and enjoyed working as a kitchen designer for Diamond Lumber and Atlantic Designs in Bangor.
In her retirement years, she found much joy working on her computer graphics and building a robust community of online friends that she cared for deeply. Within this community, she was lovingly known as the “crazy penguin lady” due to her adoration of penguins.
In her last year, she created a home at Northern Lights Continuing Care, Lakewood in Waterville, ME. She considered herself very blessed to have found not only wonderful care, but new friends she considered family in the Skilled Care Unit.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Charles Blair and 2 very special friends that she was excited to be with again: Pam Best and Adrianne “Freckles” Petrillo.
Cleta is survived by her beloved family: son, Scott Marquis and granddaughters, Zoey and Jodie Marquis of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; son, Mathiew Marquis, wife Jennifer and granddaughter Amanda Marquis of Standish, ME; granddaughter Jessica Agunday and husband Michael, of Mesa, AZ; brother, William Rosacker and wife Judy of Brandenburg, KY; as well as special nieces and nephews, Robin Balistreri; Erin Moore; BJ Rosacker; Chris Cornue along with their families.
Cleta’s wish was to be cremated and have her ashes released into the Atlantic Ocean, joining her Mom and Dad, traveling the world.
