Obituary of Virginia Wilde Beamer

Virginia W. Beamer (Ginny) passed away on March 20, 2023 in Scarborough.

 

Ginny was born on August 31, 1935, to John and Dorothy (Cropley) Wilde in Cohasset, MA.  She attended first through tenth grades in Pembroke, MA.  Her final two years of public school were at Kennebunk High School graduating in class of 1953. Ginny completed her higher education with a B.S.at the Univ. of Maine in Portland where she chose her profession as a Registered Nurse.

 

After raising her family in Cape Porpoise, Ginny moved to the West coast taking her nursing skills with her wherever she lived. Ginny loved the outdoors which included hiking and skiing.  She also loved sailing and enjoyed many adventures with her husband Bob Beamer. Her travels took her to many places throughout the country exploring and meeting new people. Upon retirement her enjoyment of knitting kept her busy donating many of her projects to help raise money for local animal shelters.  After many years living in the West, Ginny returned to Kennebunk to live near her son John and his family.

 

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Wilde, son Gerald Goodwin, husband Dale Goodwin and husband Robert Beamer.  She leaves behind her son, Daniel Goodwin (wife Cynthia) Mt. View, CA; son John Goodwin Wells, ME; grandson Keeya Goodwin (wife Michelle) Southport, N.C.; grandson Owen Goodwin, Littleton, CO; sister Marilyn Wilde Steen Liberty Lake, WA; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Cooper Goodwin; Nieces Becky Monday, Spokane, WA; Jackie Scardino, Thousand Oaks, CA.

 

In lieu of flowers donation is requested to the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, P. O. Box 7004, Cape Porpoise, Maine 04014

 

Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later time.
