Obituary of Jacquelyn H. Triehy

Please share a memory of Jacquelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacquelyn Lois Havener Triehy, 94 yrs.

Jacquelyn Triehy was born March 4, 1928, in Belfast, Maine and died October 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born to Olive (Lermond) and Ivan Havener.  Belfast always held such a special place in her heart as it was where she and her husband spent their childhoods (both attending Crosby High School) and eventually met and married.  In 1945 she represented “Freedom From Fear” on a float in Belfast’s World War II victory parade.  In her later years she loved to drive the family past her old house on John Street where she grew up.

Jackie graduated obtained her RN at Boston Memorial Hospital.  She married James R. Triehy in 1951.  Together they had 9 children: Grant, Timothy (Judy), Peter (deceased), Sean (Vicki), Celeste (David Holwick), Alison, Andrew (Lara), Sara, and Michael (deceased).  They also had 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Jackie was always a person of service.  She was very active in the Methodist Church in Pepperell, Massachusetts, and Faith Baptist Church in Hollis, New Hampshire; teaching Sunday School, leading the Children’s Choir, singing in the adult Choir and preparing countless church and community suppers.  In later years, she attended Pepperell Family Fellowship.

She served her community in many ways including Cub Scouts and Brownie’s, as Town Nurse, and was very involved in the Pepperell Women’s Club, having been a past president.  She was most proud of being a member of the Gideon’s Bible Women’s Auxiliary.

After retiring as Charge Nurse at the local Freeman Nursing Home, she and Jim traveled extensively including Ireland, Egypt, Israel, Canada and Europe.  For 30 years they enjoyed time with family, friends and guests at their summer home on Crawford Pond in Union, Maine.

A Celebration of Life service will be at the Pepperell Christian Fellowship, 17 Main Street, on Saturday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Stephen Witmer, Rev. Michael Rattin and Rev. David Holwick officiating.  Burial will follow in Pepperell’s Woodlawn Cemetery.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Gideons at www.Gideons.org/donate, or to your local Hospice.  Memories may be shared on her tribute wall.
