Obituary of Linda Ranger

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

AUGUSTA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our dear friend, Linda
Ranger. She passed away on Sunday, September 11 at MaineGeneral
Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care at Gray Birch.
Linda was born on July 30, 1943 to Marion Augusta Gammon Ranger and
Eldon Ranger in Winthrop, Maine. She attended Winthrop schools, graduating
from Winthrop High School in 1964. She worked at the Winthrop Drugstore in the
ice cream fountain and snack bar.
Linda was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 12, 1963 and
was part of the original Augusta Congregation. By 1988 there were 3
congregations, West Augusta, East Augusta and Monmouth and, living in
Winthrop, Linda was part of the Monmouth Congregation.
She did not have children of her own as her fiancée, David Millbank, was
killed in a tragic car accident and she never married. She did, however, help raise
many children, especially Kirby and Matthew Dill, Amber (Dill) Paradis and Coral
(Dill) Otterson. Linda loved the beach and sunbathing. The kids fondly remember
walking with her to the Winthrop beach on most summer days. Linda also loved
to play games and some of the kids remember playing board games many Friday
nights in the laundry room of her complex, sneaking cheese puffs, nutty bars or
potato chips – Linda loved her snacks!
Linda will be sorely missed but we look forward to being reunited with her
when she is resurrected, young and healthy, in the earthly paradise that Jehovah
God originally intended for the earth (Genesis 1:28). This hope sustained her
during her final days.
We would like to thank the staff at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Long-
Term Care at Gray Birch for giving Linda a wonderful home for the past 8 years.
Thank you also to Maine General HomeCare & Hospice for your compassionate
care these last weeks.
A memorial service will be held on October 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8 Cross Hill Road, Augusta, Maine.  Memories and condolences may be shared at directcremationofmaine.com.
