Obituary of Allen Harold Kilton

Allen Harold Kilton passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 5, 2022.

Allen was born on November 16, 1950, in Machias. The son of Harold and Katherine (Harmon) Kilton.  He was a 1970 graduate of Machias Memorial High School. In his early years, Allen raced with his friends at Winterport. He also graduated from Washington County Technical College with a degree in Diesel Mechanics and Heavy equipment and during his life he worked in the logging industry, road construction, and equipment maintenance.

Allen was an avid American war history enthusiast, and often uttered the phrase “Remember the Alamo!” or “It’s one of the big ones!”  These simple phrases will be synonymous with fond memories of Allen by all that knew and loved him.

Allen was predeceased by his father Harold, mother Katherine, step-mother Suzie Kilton, his brothers Ira Kilton and Jerry Kilton, and son Derrick Kilton.

Allen is survived by his wife of fifty years, Doreen (Curtis) Kilton, their children, Stacey Dore and husband Damar of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Chris Kilton and wife Rhonda of Marion Township, Erica Tomah and husband Dwayne of Perry, Alesia Smith and husband Eric of Dennysville, and Jacob Kilton and wife Samantha of Lubec.  Brothers, Billy Kilton of Lewiston, Jimmy Kilton and his wife Gloria of Lewiston, sister-in-law Kara Kilton of Auburn, sisters Brenda Ramsdell and her husband Pete of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Lillian Davis and companion Dennis Poisson of Greene.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Henry Kuritz, Justin Kuritz, Kyle Dore, Desiree Dore, Kelsey Dore, Ashlyn (Dore) Winfield, Connie Carver, Rico Carver, Lillianna Tomah, Derrick Smith, Kenadee Smith, Gage Kilton, Kailee Kilton, Addilyn Kilton, a great-grandson Kyler Kuritz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Remembrance Services will be held at the Pembroke Elementary School on Sunday July 10th, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Interment will be scheduled for a later date.
