Obituary of Deborah Elizabeth Parker
Deborah M Parker, 80, of Sargentville, Maine, passed away on March 10, 2022. She was born February 15, 1942, in Buffalo, NY to George Means and Helen Fink Means. Deborah spent her childhood in Buffalo, NY and Lake Erie in Canada. She graduated from Buffalo Seminary in 1960 and earned a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Duke University. In 1966, she married Stanley Floyd Lowrey of LaPorte, TX.
She enjoyed travelling with her sister Catherine "Kit" Lowe, reading mystery novels, playing bridge with her friends, and she loved her dogs. She worked for several health agencies including the Red Cross in Houston, Aroostook Area Agency on Aging, and Hospice of Hancock County. The role she got the most joy from was as case manager at Down East AIDS Network. Her clients became more like family.
Deborah is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Shaw and husband Dan of Bangor, ME, and Evangeline Lowrey of San Francisco, CA, her grandchildren Savannah, Ava, Zander, Aiden, Xavier, and Jacob, and her close friend Jay Mendez of Bucksport, ME. She is predeceased by two children, Cinnamon Alan Lowrey and Laurel Catherine Lowrey in May 1976, former husband Stan in May 1994, and only sister Kit in December 2017.
