What sad news to hear! I worked with Charlie for many years and we had many weird, wonderful, funny conversations in the middle of the night. Even though, I haven't seen Charlie for many years, every once in a while a memory of him passes through me. I am very sorry you lost a wonderful family member.

Some of the best times as a kid growing up was going to Charlie’s house up to the third floor and playing hockey. Funny how I was always the Goalie. Then after playing Goalie ,We would all get in the Boston Whaler and head to New Meadow Store . I believe the game was let’s find a wake and bounce Billy out of the boat .
Years later we played a lot of Hockey at Alfond Arena and I am sure we irritated Ned Dowd . Charlie got everyone laughing at Alfond/ He must of said watch what I do to Bill as he comes out on the ice . I should of suspected something was going on , as everyone was staring at me.Then as soon as I open the door to start skating . I hear Charlie yell Bill- I look up as Charlie does a wicked wrist shot to My head , and hits me . Then I realize it was a foam puck and everyone can’t stop laughing. Thanks for the Great memories.

Charlie used to work in the bakery with us at the Bath Shaws many years ago. He was so funny and entertaining to work with. He was the baker with lots of product to bake and package...I was the cake decorator...he'd look over and say " I wonder what kind of cake I should make now"...insinuating that I wasn't really doing anything !! He drove a nice little sports car that he loved. Very intelligent and hilarious. Can't believe he had dementia.....and now he's gone....miss you Charlie

I remember attending "hall hockey" competitions at the Coxe household on Helen's Way with Louis, Jr., Alan Lishness, Mike St.Pierre, Scott Bisgrove and " Chunky" Charlie Coxe. Never understood where nickname "Chunky" came from, but I remember he would usually dominate the hall way. We had great fun, were always laughing and raising a lot hellish noise- untl the "Surfer" arrived and shut down the game. Maybe he got annoyed by dents and dings on the door at the end of the hall because whoever was goal tending didn't make the stop. There was also lots of loud music played on a 45 RPM record player which may have annoyed him as well.
Fond memories of Coxe house hold. Great, fun loving family. Charlie will be missed by all that knew him.

I'm very saddened to hear of Charlie's passing. I would occasionally see Charlie at Hannaford, where he insisted that I purchase items with the largest amount of natural ingredients! Even today, when I look at the ingredients of a food purchase, I think of Charlie. He would also stop by my place of employment once in a while to chat. I'll always remember the indoor hockey games on the 3rd floor of the Coxe's house with Charlie and Lou. Lots of fun until Professor Coxe would come upstairs and say "that's enough boys". I'll miss Charlie but I'll always have the great memories.
