Obituary of Nicole S. Golden
Nicole S. Golden made her transition to heaven peacefully, surrounded by her
loved ones at her childhood home in Mt. Vernon, on December 30, 2021, after
succumbing to medical issues she developed over the past few years.
Nicole entered this world on December 13, 1980. Anyone who was blessed
with the opportunity to have met Nicole knew at that moment she was the kind of
person that they would remember forever . Nicole had a way about her that no
matter what the circumstances that brought her into your life, just spending a brief
amount of time with her would forever leave a positive impact on your life. Nicole’s
infectious smile, bubbly personality, and pragmatic views on life could brighten up
even the cloudiest of days. Nicole’s witty sarcasm and hilarious sense of humor
always made her stand out in the crowd. Trustworthy, loyal and confident were a
few of the many gifts Nicole gave to those who were lucky enough to have her
friendship. She would be there to help her friends through the hard times and help
them celebrate the good times. Nicole enjoyed spending time with friends and loved
spending time with her mom and brother. They shared many special times together
watching movies, playing cards or simply enjoying quality time together just
hanging out.
Nicole shared a bond with her mother that was one-of-a-kind, she had many
friends, but her mother was her best friend. They created many wonderful memories
while on their mother/daughter adventures. Their adventures together ranged from
taking the train to Boston for the day to a week-long trip to New Orleans. Their
most favorite memories were spent relaxing at the beach to work on their tans.
Nicole always won the “Best Tan Contest” which was a yearly competition she had
with her mom and brother.
Nicole was preceded in death by her father Ferrell R. Golden who was there
to welcome her through Heaven's gate. Nicole is survived by her mother Mattie
Lapan, stepfather Gene Lapan, brother Jason "Bub" Golden, his partner
Kimberly Bernier and their children Owen, Sophia and Xander; Nicole’s
spoiled cat Orange Juice, her second NaNa Rose Magee, her childhood friends
Aubrey Previer, Lesley “Lele” Smith, Jason Harris, and countless other special friends
along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nicole will always be loved, remembered and missed by all who knew her, yet
we can all take solace knowing some day we'll be together again.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time and date which is still to be
determined.
