Obituary of Margot Johnson

Margot Johnson, 84, of Warren, Maine, passed on August 13, 2021. Margot was born on October 26, 1936 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Gunnar and Karin Olson. Margot grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts. As a child, she was an amazing athlete and in later years loved to tell the story of playing softball and catching the ball with her bare hands. She married Robert Johnson in 1954 and they had nine children. Margot was a stay-at-home mom who was full of love. She had an uncanny knack for creating a warm comfortable home. Her decorating and baking skills made all the holidays feel magical. The stockings were always overflowing on Christmas morning and on Easter, the baskets were individually special (as each of her kids had different interests). She had a love for gardening and spending time outdoors, which she passed on to her children. She had a passion for the sea and swam in the ocean every chance she got. Summers were spent camping in New Hampshire at Dolly Copp Campground. She had a deep love of sitting around a campfire, or bonfire, which every one of her children inherited from her. In recent years with her partner of 33 years, James Moore, she enjoyed watching football and baseball and was an avid Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes fan. Her children are eternally grateful to Jim for the way he cared for her all these years. He was her rock, he loved and cared for her unconditionally! Margot is preceded in death by her infant son Matthew, her daughter, Laurie Spurr Myette, a granddaughter Julie Botto and her brothers Stuart and Peter Olson. Margot is survived by her partner Jim Moore, her brother Paul, eight children: Robert Johnson of Oceanside, California; Kenneth Johnson (Jeannette) of Warren, Maine; James Johnson of Hanover, Massachusetts; Michael Johnson (Karen) of Hanover, Massachusetts; Linda Marcoux of Weaverville, North Carolina; Peter Johnson (Julie) of O’Fallon, Missouri; Kris Johnson (Erik) of St. Petersburg, Florida; Margot Johnson of Pembroke, Massachusetts. She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren: Michael Spurr, Rob Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Shauna Goodwin, Peter Johnson, Willow Rogers, Erica Pan, Francisco Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Daniel Marcoux, Andrew Marcoux, Zari Johnson, Kira Johnson and 4 Great-Grandchildren: Mikey Spurr, Cody Spurr, McKinley Johnson and Sawyer Rogers. Margot will be cremated and the Viking ceremony that she requested will be held at a later date.
