Obituary of Gerard Damase Raymond

Presque Isle - Gerard D Raymond, 83, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Gerard was born in Winterville, Maine on May 24, 1938, the son of Damase and Albertine (Voisine) Raymond. Gerard married the love of his life and soul mate, Maryann Dube, on November 18, 1961; they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Tom, Dana, and Connie. He worked for Smith Farms for over 20 years as a mechanic, operated farm equipment and painted farm trucks and tractors. After retirement his favorite pastimes were fishing at the family camp, hunting with his sons and most of all spending time with his loving family and friends. Gerard loved to go to Walmart and Tim Hortons to see how many people he could talk to that day. Gerard will be remembered for his quick wit, funny jokes, and making new friends with whom he greeted “I’m so happy for you to see me!” Once you spoke to Gerard, he would forever be your friend. His infectious smile could be seen wherever he went. Gerard is survived by his wife, Maryann and their three children Tom Raymond and fiancé Sandy LaBelle of Ashland, Dana and Paula Raymond of Blaine, and Connie and Arden Folsom of Mars Hill. Grandchildren Jacky and Jeremy Poulin of Easton, Brooke LaBelle and CJ Martin of Hermon, Tyler Raymond of Mars Hill, Bryan and Lia Grew of El Paso, Texas, Jessica and Bryan McNamara of Caribou, Mitchell and Lorraine Folsom of Hodgdon, and Alex and Allie Folsom of Blaine. Gerard was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren; Cole, Reid, Lilly, Colton, Raegan, Griffin, Collin, and Camille. He also survived by his two sisters Jeanette Pinette of Presque Isle and Thelma and husband June Paradis of Southington, CT, and his brother Henry and Rita Raymond of Eagle Lake; as well as many family members and great friends; too many to list. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at TAMC for the amazing care that was provided to Gerard and family during this trying time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward Gerard’s monument. Please send all donations to Maryann Raymond, 145 Egypt Rd, Presque Isle ME, 04769. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10AM on August 7th 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle, followed by a service at 10AM.
