RAYMOND R. “PEANUT” SHARKEY IV Ray Sharkey passed away on 07-11-2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough ME after a brief illness. He was born 05-13-1971 to Raymond “Renny” Sharkey III and Marion McGarvin Stevens in Bennington VT. Ray’s Gram taught him to play cribbage at a young age and it remained a favorite pastime throughout his life. He loved music and had an eclectic taste ranging from 80’s hair rock to Machine Gun Kelly. Ray especially enjoyed watching music videos, singing and dancing with Davida, whom he considered to be his daughter. Ray was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Raymond R. “Babe” and Marjorie Sharkey, of Knox ME. He is survived by his father and step-mother Sonya Sharkey of Canaan ME; his mother Marion (Harold) Stevens of Hoosick Falls NY; his sister Tammy Sharkey Hohn and husband Thomas of Long Island ME; niece Caroline Hohn of Portland ME; nephew Connor James of San Francisco CA; his partner Michelle Glaude and her daughters Davida Gilbert of Westbrook ME, and Britni & Evelyn Martz of Hope ME. Also, long time friend Richard Dyer of Standish ME; Uncle Vaughn (Cher) Sharkey of Hoosick Falls NY; Uncle Scott (June) Sharkey of Fallon NV; and “Uncle” Betty (Allen) Blue of Valley Center KS; “favorite” uncles and aunts and numerous other family members and friends There will be a celebration of life at his father’s home in Canaan on Saturday, July 17 from 1-5.
