Obituary of Jacqueline McCormick

Jacqueline Page McCormick died comfortably on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Pittsfield Community Care with her son, Sheldon and daughter-in-law, Mary at her side. Jackie was 91 years old and was the mother of four children: Sharon McCormick Spivak, Raymond McCormick who, sadly predeceased her January 2020, Sheldon McCormick, and Glen McCormick. She was the Grandmother of 8 and Great Grandmother of 12 whom she loved dearly. Jacqueline was an active woman who served the Town of Unity as Postmaster for 23 years and was also a member and past president of NAPUS - National Association of Postmasters. Jacqueline took pride in her work and wanted her Post Office to be welcoming, friendly, neat, clean and efficient for her customers - not to mention tastefully decorated for each holiday. The additional roles Jacqueline held include that of Trustee and Secretary to the Trustee BOD at Unity College and Charter Member and past President of the Unity Rotary International Club. Jacqueline was a devoted member of the Unity United Methodist Church dating as far back as 1960’s. There she held many positions - the most notable perhaps was that of the Church Organist however, she was a dedicated volunteer as well. With virtually any church-sponsored event, Jacqueline was there along with dear friends volunteering in some way. It was Jackie’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Unity United Methodist Church. Additionally, she wanted no public service.
