Obituary of Hiram Owen Cochran

Hiram Owen Cochran, 84, was reunited with his wife in heaven on Sunday, August 30th. He was born on September 14th, 1935 in Codyville, Maine. He was just one of 13 children to Laforest and Flora Cochran. After graduating high school Hiram joined the service. He married the love of his life, Carol (Spooner) Cochran in 1956 and started a family together having three children. They later moved to Augusta and worked for 20 years at the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife- Fish Hatchery. He also worked over the years for Ralph’s Plumbing and Heating, Suburban Propane, the State of Maine BTI, and the KVCap Bus. He was a part of many organizations including the Masons, and Kora Shiners for many years. His greatest enjoyments in life were working, spending time with loved ones and friends, and making others laugh. He is survived by his sister, Louise Chapman; and his son, Randall Cochran and wife, Bonney Cochran; his grandchildren; Dusty Cochran and wife, Jodi Cochran; Katrina Ayer; Kristy Goggins and husband, Shane Goggins, Deidre Cochran; and great-grandchildren; Madison and Owen Cochran; Ryley and Jeremy Lyons; and Brent Trundy. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Carol Cochran; son, Charles Cochran; and daughter, Linda (Cochran) Ayer, and his 11 brothers and sisters. Hiram was an extraordinary man and will be missed dearly by many. Due to Covid-19 a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
