Jerry Garnett

Obituary of Jerry Garnett

Bangor & Machias It is with great sadness we share that on June 26, 2020, Gerald "Jerry" Garnett lost his battle with mental illness and substance abuse. He is now at peace and no longer in pain. Jerry was born July 2, 1956, in Machias, Maine. He grew up in Mason's Bay, Jonesport, Maine, but always considered Machias to be his home. Jerry was a free spirit, roadie for rock bands, talented carpenter, loved fishing, camping, ATVing, and always said, "Well, you know I love ya." Jerry was predeceased by his dearly loved grandparents, Charles and Etta Saddler, and Clarence and Helen Garnett, a dear friend Ruby, and pets, a cat Fuffy, and a dog Buzzy. He is survived by parents William G. and Margarete W. Dobbins Garnett, siblings Joyce and Robert Pittman and family, Jane and Dean McGray and family, Joline and Mitchell Bowers and family, Glenn and Vicki Garnett and family, Julia and Floyd Crowley and family, plus nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends Rita, Betty, Janet, Tim and many others. Due to current restrictions, a memorial service is being planned for summer 2021. In lieu of flowers please donate in Jerry’s name to Arise Addiction Recovery, 11 Lincoln Street Machias, ME 04654, or Ark Animal Shelter, 60 Barber Ln, Cherryfield, ME 04622.
