Obituary of MaryJane Sperrey
WASHBURN - MaryJane Sperrey, 84, of Washburn, lost her battle with lung cancer, at her home on April 13, 2020. She was born in Connor, Maine on March 12th, 1936, the daughter of Charles and Emily (Michaud) McAtee.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Carroll R. Sperrey, married on May 1st, 1957. She is also survived by her six children, Jeffrey (Nancy) of Milford, NH, Rodney (Cheryl) of Washburn, Gregory (Rhonda) of Washburn, Pamela (Craig) Fales of Bartonville, IL, Cynthia (Eric) Watson of Lawrenceville, GA, and Joseph (Barbara) of Caribou. Also surviving are two sisters, Rita Moreau of Caribou, SR Alice McAtee of Bafoussam, Cameroon, Africa; and one brother, Ronald (Janice) McAtee of Woodland; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Mikeal, Robert and Gordon; and three sisters, Myrtle, Vergie and Theresa.
MaryJane loved being with her husband and family. She enjoyed many wonderful days at their camp on Cross Lake.
She spent many hours making quilts for hospice, as well as family. She loved to knit mittens, hats, slippers and socks for family and friends, donating many extra pairs of mittens to Catholic Charities and for those in need.
MaryJane also enjoyed cooking and serving the many snowmobilers at the Washburn Trailrunners Snowmobile Club.
There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of her Life is being planned for family and friends at a later date.
