Obituary of Doris P. Clark

Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris Clark, 90, died from cancer February 29, 2020, at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle, Maine. She was born in Woodland, Maine on May 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Joseph W. Clark and Ida Cloukey. Doris loved animals, games shows and joking around; she loved going shopping with her sisters and spending the day in Presque Isle. Doris worked in Hartford, Connecticut in 1956 before moving back to Ashland where she worked at Tate State/Mccains in Washburn for many years, traveling and working with the local girls. In the 1970’s, Doris traveled to nine countries with her sister, Peggy. She saw many interesting sights, but her most memorable time was when she visited the Vatican and saw the Pope. She was never married, but was blessed to raise two amazing men, Danny Robinson and Brad Jencks. They were the loves of her life, the center of her universe. She lived for those boys. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her sisters Janet Gagnon and Jacqueline Crabb, sisters-in-law Barbara Skidgel and Earlene Webber, brothers-in-law Clarence Gagnon, Rodney Burby, John Starkey, and Gerald Crabb. Doris is survived by her brothers, Milton and his wife Dawn, Edward, and Marvin; her sisters, Peggy Starkey, and Patricia Robinson and her husband Bob, and many nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank Tim Tilley for keeping the house repaired. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Contributions in Doris’s memory may be made to the Central Aroostook Humane Society 24 Cross Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769
