DEER ISLE - Heaven gained a great woman last night, our Mom. Blanche Marie Davis, 89, passed away with family by her side at the Island Nursing home. Her soul left the earth on February 22, 2020. She was born September 2, 1930 in Cape Rosier, Brooksville Maine, the eldest child of Edgar and Lottie Carter. She lived a wonderful long, full life and was a hard working woman. She and her second husband Donald were avid square dancers.
Blanche was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Berland Nevels and second husband Donald Davis; a son Harland Nevells Sr. and sisters Mildred Emerton and Mina Gray as well as a brother, Albert Carter.
Blanche is survived by her children Richard Nevells of Bangor, Delwyn Nevells of Deer Isle and Cindy Lash of Stonington; as well as three sisters, Evelyn Hardie, Rachel Munson and Rebecca Tainter; as well as 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Blanche is resting easy now and is looking down and watching over us.
A memorial service will be held later in the spring with a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Blanche Davis to the Island Nursing Home Resident Activities Account, 587 N. Deer Isle Road, Deer Isle Maine, 04627.
