Obituary of Jeanne Ross

Jeanne D. Ross, 78, of Bridgton, Maine, passed away peacefully on Sat., Feb. 15, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. Jeanne lived most of her life in Bridgton; attending school, working at the local shoe shop and at local restaurants. She was a loving caretaker for many children, her grandchildren and also many elderly family members and friends. Animals were a very important part of her home — dogs, cats, birds, a raccoon, etc. All were welcome. She filled her home with photos, plants, her paintings, collections, country music and laughter. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Jeanne married her longtime sweetheart, Stewart K. Ross on June 30, 1985. She is survived by her husband, Stewart Ross, of Bridgton; daughter Carolee Collier and husband Ron of Harrison; son Bruce Ross and girlfriend Sandy of Bridgton; daughter Sarah Ross of Acton, Mass.; son Eric Ross and partner Kevin of Norway; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Dodge and wife Dottie of Barnstead, N.H.; David Dodge and wife Jana of Norway; and countless friends and relatives. Jeanne was predeceased by her brother, Jack Dodge, of Bridgton. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the United Parish Congregational Church, 77 Main Street, Harrison, on March 7, at 2 p.m., with a reception immediately following.
