Barbara Jason (Smith} 1937-2020 Steuben, Maine Together Again Barbara (83) passed peacefully with family by her side Tuesday February 11, 2020. Barbara was born in Nashville to a loving family. Many of her attributes derived from her southern roots-Christianity; music; gardening; sewing; cooking. The love story began when she moved North to New York where she met the love of her life, Terence Jason Sr. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage and four children and the opportunity to relocate their family to Maine. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Her multiple talents were useful working in various jobs throughout her life i.e. boat building business with Terry; she owned and operated a Christmas wreath mail order company; was a real estate agent; worked as activity coordinator for senior groups in several counties and nursing homes. She volunteered in elementary schools and after school groups; Steuben Volunteer Fire Department activities and fund raisers; and volunteered at Birds' Acre- Ellsworth. She made use of her favorite hobbies of sewing quilts, crocheting hats, & lap quilts to give where they were needed. Barbara is predeceased by her husband of 62 years Terry Jason (2018). She is survived by: four children Terry jr (Cindy); Tanis (Don Ross); Donna; Michele (Donny Parks). Many grandchildren and great grandchildren . Honoring her wishes there will be no services. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
