My condolences go out to the Alex family. I will always remember how good Joan was to my grandmother, always picking her up for church or a church women's group meeting. (My grandmother never drove). Joan also lived on the street behind us; she was supportive of me & my brothers by buying whatever we were selling for school, little league, etc. and keeping a watchful eye as we crossed over to the playground. I'll miss running into her at Hannaford, which always brought memories of days back in the neighborhood. Such a good woman; may she Rest In Peace. Laura Flanders

Christy, Bob and Mark, I am truly sorry to hear about Joan's passing. She was a wonderful woman, a hard worker, and a thoughtful neighbor! I hope you are able to take comfort in the love and joy she brought to you. Barbara and Buzzy frequently said how fortunate they felt having such terrific neighbors as Joannie and Christy. All of our lives are so much richer because we were friends to your Mom/Wife. If there is anything I can do I hope you will give me a call. Rich Smalley
