MILDRED BROWN, 78, died March 29, 2009 in Knox. She was born in Portland on August 23, 1930, the daughter of Clifton and Mildred (Janvrin) Doughty. She moved to Massachusetts in her youth where she worked much of her life in the shoe industry and raised her family. She moved back to Maine in the early ‘80s where she raised her grandson. She was predeceased by her son, James S. Raven and a grandson, Paul Raven. Mildred is survived by four children, David, Tony and Paul Raven, all of Massachusetts and Sherry Raven of Knox; seven brothers and sisters, Dorothy Gardiner of Unity, Clifton Doughty, Linwood Doughty, Ralph Doughty, Emerson Doughty and Nancy Doughty, all of Knox, Linda Rollerson of Thorndike; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31st where funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1st at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ken Davenport officiating. Spring interment will be at East Knox Cemetery.
