WILBUR E. ELLIS, 81 of Belfast, died May 25, 2009 at Harbor Hill in Belfast. He was born June 24, 1927 in Winslow, son of Adelbert and Myrtle (Johnston) Ellis. He was service manager at Hillcrest Poultry in Lewiston and Duratherm Window Co. in Vassalboro. After retiring, he enjoyed doing small carpenter jobs and making things with his carpentry skills. Wilbur was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Mary Ellis; sister Blanche Stearns; brother-in-law Steve Chapman. Survivors include his sisters, Frances Merrithew and her husband Scott of Belfast and Marlene Chapman of Benton; and a special nephew, Gary Merrithew as well as many others. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13th at First Church in Belfast. Burial will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Those who wish may make donations in Wilbur’s memory to First Church in Belfast, 8 Court Street, Belfast, ME 04915. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
