Obituary of Frederick Irvin Russell

FREDERICK IRVIN RUSSELL, 58, of Houlton died July 8, 2009 in Houlton with his family by his side following a long courageous battle with cancer. Frederick was born May 8, 1951 in Island Falls, the son of Horace B. Russell Sr. and Addie Louise (Lilley) Russell of Smyrna Mills. He graduated from Oakfield High School class of 1970. Frederick served in the marine corp. He worked several years for Guyfriel & Sons of Smyrna, J.P. Levesque of Ashland, George Arnold Roach of Smyrna, and Dale Boutlier & Katahdin Forest Products of Oakfield before he became disabled. Frederick was pre-deceased by his father, Horace Russell Sr.; brother, Lewis; and grandson Tyson Sharp. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Alma (Fowler) Russell; his mother, Addie (Lilley) Russell of Smyrna Mills; three daughters, Donna (Russell) Morton and husband David of Ashland; Beth Russell and friend ATU of Lake Mary, Florida; daughter Marie Fowler and her fiance’ Jason Parent of Limestone; one brother, Horace Russell Jr. and his wife Denise of Smyrna Mills; two sisters, Joyce (Russell) Ouellette and her husband Rodney of Saint Francis; Rhonda (Russell) Ouellette and her husband Delmer of Fort Kent; seven grand children, Travis Sharp Jr., Evan Morton, Aleece Sharp, Taylor Morton, Evelyn Morton, Spencer Sharp, and Madison Sharp; two sister in law’s, Pamela Woolsey and her husband Jack of Rifle Colorado; Nacie Fowler of Oakfield; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice of Aroostook; Jane, Debbie, Nacie, Kim, Addie, Hal and Apria Services; the support we received from Madigan Estates, Jessie Drysdale, Sterling Lawrence, Deacon Al Burleigh, James Gardiner and all the others who have stopped by and the new friends at Military Street Apartments. Donations may be made to Alma Russell, 95 Military St. Apt. 220 Houlton, Maine 04730. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. July 18th at Merrill Cemetery with Jessie Drysdale officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine 182 Waldo Avenue Belfast.
