ARLENE MARIE (STEVENS) CURTIS, 68 of Swanville, passed away July 19, 2009. She was born August 7, 1940 in Swanville, Maine, the daughter of Herbert and Ruth Stevens. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and her family and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Arlene is predeceased by her parents and her loving husband of 38 years, Ronald R. Curtis; a daughter Sandra Bragdon Curtis; sister Juanita Perkins and sister-in-law Chrissy Stevens. She is survived by her children, Charles Bragdon and wife Sue of Wilton, Robert Bragdon of Searsmont, Ruth Curtis and husband James Bartlett of Swanville; her siblings, Richard Stevens and wife Leona of Swanville, Herbert Stevens III of Hartford, Maine, Carl Stevens of Benton, Lena Stevens of Florida; half-brother Richard Pomeroy and wife Crystal of Belfast; grandchildren, Robert Bragdon, John Witham, Ashley Bartlett, Josh & Tyler Cherry; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bernie Bartlett, Pat Melvin and Margaret Harvey as well as many others. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Swanville. Immediately following there will be a gathering at Ruth Curtis’ home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in her memory to Arlene’s funeral expense, c/o Ruth Curtis, 484 Oak Hill Road, Swanville, ME 04915. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
