Obituary of Evelyn L. Robinson

Evelyn L.(Butler) Robinson, 86, left us unexpectedly on July 23, 2009 in Connecticut. She was born November 8 1922 the daughter of Merrill W. Butler and Alice A (Butler) Butler. She worked in many jobs over the years in the local pants factory and then at Van Balens. She most enjoyed her 17 years with Hutchinson's Greenhouse in Searsmont where she was able to work side by side with her husband, Arthur. After the greenhouse closed, she enjoyed traveling around the county sending cards to keep her family updated with her trips. She settled down in Belfast with her longtime companion, Richard Hutchinson, until is death and then lived with her granddaughter and husband in Northport. Evelyn decided she wanted to make another move and did so to Enfield, CT where she lived independently at Little Sisters of the Poor, spending much of her time with her son and family. She enjoyed the other residents and often spoke of the many events in which she and Emma helped in the kitchen cooking. She took many day trips with the group, sold raffle tickets and made crafts and crocheted items for the many benefits they supported. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; her husband Arthur Robinson; brothers, Arthur, Morris, Charles and Chester; a sister, Vida Rines; son Francis “Sonny” Robinson. Evelyn is survived by a sister, Ethel Davis of Searsmont; son Edgar A. Robinson and wife Carol of Enfield, CT and their children Justin and wife Colleen, and daughter, Kelly Moore and husband Jeffrey also of CT; grandchildren, Robert and wife Sherry Robinson and children Tyler, Derek and Aaron all of Portland, ME; Ellen and husband Richard St Clair of Northport, ME; David Robinson and wife Nancy and their children, Courtney and fiancée, Patrick and their son, Anthony; Jennifer and husband, Matt Johnson, Michael and Timothy all of Belfast; also Hazel and Rodney Young of Waldo; a cousin Herbert Butler of Searsmont and special niece, Lotti Ann Bragdon and husband Donald Cyr of Portland, ME. Services are being held in Connecticut on Thursday at 10.AM with burial at a time that is best for family in Maine at family cemetery in Vassalboro.
