Obituary of Glenice L. Kershaw
Glenice L. (Adams) Kershaw, 87, of Searsmont passed away in Belfast on August 7, 2009, following a short illness. She was born in Liberty, Maine on May 20, 1922 the daughter of Elwin Adelbert and Ruby (Oxton) Adams. Glenice graduated from Walker High School class of 1940, and then went on to attend Providence Bible Institute in Rhode Island for one year. She married William R. Kershaw July 5, 1943. In recent years she volunteered at Liberty AMVET food pantry, and also donated much to the Montville Historical Society. Glenice especially enjoyed growing flowers and plants and sharing them with friends and family. She was a loving housewife, caregiver and friend to all, and will be remembered for her strength and sweetness by all those she touched with her life.
Glenice is predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother Earl S. Adams. She is survived by her daughter Melody Sweetland and husband Charles of Montville; grandson Christopher J. Doolan and wife Julie, and her sons Jonathan and Jason Vinal of Appleton; a brother Clyde S. Adams of Tucson, Arizona; sister in law Elsie T. Adams of Palermo, and special "sisters" Agnes Fuller, Lucille Gorham, and Delora Peaslee all of Appleton, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and her cat "Boots".
Memorial services will be held Friday August 14, 2009 at 11:00am at Palermo Christian Church.
