Obituary of Donald L. Morin

DONALD L. MORIN, 65 of Readfield, died August 29, 2009 at the Auburn Hospice House after a brief battle with cancer. He was born December 14, 1943 in Salem, MA, son of Ludger and Agnes (Provencher) Morin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63. He worked for Zayre/Ames, Rite-Aid, Cumberland Farms and the Maine Turnpike. For the last 10 years he drove for Dorothy Egg Farms. Don was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan who also loved to sit home and play games with his grandson, Darien. He bowled for many years and enjoyed square dancing with his wife. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Jackie. Don is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cindy Morin; his children Michele Frasier and significant other, Steve Gilbert of ME, Donald Morin Jr. and wife Robyn of MA, Christine Morin and significant other, Mike of NH; step-sons Tony Vinci of Texas and Mark Levesque and wife Chasity of Indiana; sisters Lorraine Nicoll and Doris Metayer; six grandchildren : Justin, Darien, Austen, Andrew, Troy and Ryan ; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 9th at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Following the service everyone is welcome at the Augusta Elks Lodge for a gathering of friends and family. Special thanks from the family to Hospice House of Auburn and the staff of 2C at Thayer Hospital for their compassionate care of Don.
