Obituary of Gale Patterson Knowlton

Gale Patterson Knowlton, youngest child of Frank and Marguerite "Peggy" Patterson, Sr., passed away at Boston Hospital on October 28, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Belfast on January 18, 1948. Gale enjoyed playing beano and reading. She worked as a laborer at Penobscot Poultry. In later years she worked with the nuns in a nursing home in Chelsea as a caregiver. She is predeceased by her mother and father. Gale is survived by her companion, Mark Standish of Chelsea, MA; three sisters, Gari Oxton of Northport; Beverly and her husband Keith Grant of Searsmont; Marilyn and her husband Robert Cook of Belfast; her brother Frank Patterson Jr. of Belfast; caring stepmother, Elizabeth Dudley; nieces and nephews, Debora Riley of Northport, Susan Wood of Belfast, Richard Oxton Jr. of Northport, David Oxton of Belfast, Lisa Stanford of Searsmont, Jared Disemio of Brunswick, Kelsey Payson of Searsmont, Valerie Spaulding of Swanville, Robbin Chaples of Morrill and Frank Patterson III of Rhode Island.
