Obituary of Melinda K. Lundin

Melinda K. (Colby) Lundin, 61, died peacefully April 1, 2010, at EMMC surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Melinda was born February 25, 1949 in Bangor, the daughter of the late Darrell and Harriett (Lawrence) Colby. Melinda grew up in Dexter, graduated from Dexter High School. She worked at Dexter Shoe and then became a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping, and her family. Her passion was her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Melinda enjoyed all of the children she babysat for and they all knew her as “Nana”. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Donald (Donnie) Lundin of 29 wonderful years; mother-in-law, Faye (Hanson) Lundin of Milo; seven children, thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dawn Lundin and fiancé Larry Bishop of Garland ; Veronica Levesque and husband, Tim of Levant; Sherri Coburn and husband, Mike of Milo; Tracy Lundin and wife Lea of Gorham; Tricia Stanhope and husband, Raymond of Brownville; Eric Lundin of Bangor; Michael Lundin, and fiancé, Sarah Akeley of Buxton; 13 grandchildren: Ryan and wife Kelly and their children Sydney and Parker of St Albans, Derrick and Shawn Graves of Newport, Malorie Robinson of Texas, Amanda Robinson of Bangor; Justin Levesque of Levant; Jessica and son Michael Coburn of Milo; Erica Coburn and son Kevan Royal of Milo; Ashley and Joshua Stanhope of Brownville, Kaylea and Kathryn Lundin of Gorham; and Colby Lundin of Bangor. Melinda was predeceased by her Aunt, Marion Hanning of Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Melinda’s name may be made to the Cancer Care of Maine.
