Obituary of Milton Kenneth Higgins
Milton Kenneth Higgins SR., 74, of Belmont passed away peacefully on Sunday July 11, 2010 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Milton was born July 6, 1936 in Albion the son of Roland and Muriel (Northrop) Higgins.
Milton was a graduate of Bessie High School. He married the love of his life Patricia Harding February 26, 1955 and they moved to Belmont in 1964. He retired from the State of Maine Department of Transportation in 1990, served in the Navy reserve, a member of the Masons, NRA, and Sports Alliance of Maine. Milton always enjoyed spending time with his family, many special friends, hunting fishing and riding his 4-wheeler.
He was predeceased by his parents Roland and Muriel Higgins.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Higgins of Belmont, brother Allen Higgins of Albion, special cousin Ruby Higgins of West Enfield, one son Milton and Wendy Higgins of Belfast, five daughters Susan and Keith Thompson of Morrill, Sandra and Mike Littlefield of Charlotte, Sharon and Carmen Torrey of Dawsonville, GA., Sally Higgins of Belmont, and Shirley and Dave Diepenbrock of Papua New Guinea; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren Sonja and Nick Salvatore, Kerenza, Nick and Jed, Crissy and Ross Bradley and Will, Amanda and Patrick Richards, Kara, and Kayden, Victoria Thompson, Hunter and Jerzi, James Littlefield and Jayden, Travis and Brianna Torrey, Patrick Torrey, Carmen Rae Torrey, Anna Diepenbrock, Tristian Diepenbrock, Caitlan Diepenbrock, Ashley Higgins and John Higgins.
The family is rejoicing in the wisdom, peace, and strength that God has poured on them through doctors, nurses, pastors and many special friends. Their prayers and words of encouragement continue to provide comfort.
Friends are invited to call from 6-8 pm on Saturday July 17, 2010 at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, with a funeral service Sunday July 18, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Morrill Baptist Church 25 South Main St. Morrill, ME.
