Obituary of Peter Sherwood French
PETER S. FRENCH, 72 of Burnham, passed away September 9th at Lakewood Manor in Waterville. He was born in Garland, Maine June 10, 1938, son of Herbert French Sr. and Frances (Skidgell) French. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who loved family gatherings and cookouts. He enjoyed horse racing, NASCAR, wrestling, watching Price is Right, playing dice and card games. Peter also enjoyed going to Windsor Fair to watch horse races and playing games at the fair until he won stuffed animals for all the kids. He loved his dogs.
He is predeceased by his parents; sisters, Beatrice Harvey, Alice Kenney; brothers, Herbert French Jr. Allison French and Neil Kimball. Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Charlotte French of Burnham; his children, Deborah Ridley of Burnham, Linda French of Belfast and Raymond French of Burnham; his brothers Sidney French of Phoenix, Arizona, Norman Kimball and wife Judy of Dade City, Florida; his grandchildren, Gregory Huffman, Anthony Ridley, Ashley Ridley, Nicholas French, Madeline French; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his pets, Bear, Goldie and Buddy.
Visiting hours are being held from 2-4 p.m. Monday, September 13th at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Kenney Cemetery in Brooks. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com
