Obituary of CHARLES MILTON SPRINGER JR.
CHARLES MILTON SPRINGER JR., of 141 Halls Corner Road, Belmont, died aged 69, was finally brought home to rest on November 20, 2010 after being a missing person since May 2, 2008. He was born April 24, 1939 in Fall River, Massachusetts, oldest child of Charles and Elsie (Ladouceur) Springer, Sr. A resident of Belmont since 1970, he was originally from Tiverton, RI and graduated BMC Durfee High School in Fall River, MA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an owner-operated, long-distance truck driver for 38 years. Charles loved music, dancing, sports (his favorite being baseball), old cars, and working in the woods on his property. He was a member of Classic Chevys of Maine and he often played ball with a local team called the St. Louis Cardinals at Bath, Maine. He was also a lifetime member of the North Tiverton Sportsmen's Club in Tiverton, RI.
Charles was predeceased by his father Charles Sr., and survived by his mother, Elsie (Ellie) M. Springer of Lebanon, Maine, and siblings, Everett N. Springer and wife Mallory of Wells; Patricia J. Bernstein and husband Lawrence of Aptos, CA, and Joanne A. Grigoreas and husband William of Lebanon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Chuck's life will be announced at a later date and are not expected to take place until Spring/Summer of 2011. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
