HERBERT D. HIGGINS, 92, died December 2, 2010. Born December 30, 1917, Herbert is survived by his son, Daniel H. Higgins of Montville; a daughter Melba Fisher and her husband Gary Fisher of Belfast; three daughters living in California, Donna Shoup, Gayle Townsend and Denise Lewis. He is also survived by two brothers, Russell Higgins, Walter Legendre and one sister, Dorcas Fitts; many grandchildren; one being Alane Blanton who was there for him at Harbor Hill when he passed away. He has many great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren. Herbert worked many years in the wood industry, farming and raising pigs in Pittston and Montville which was his love. No funeral services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
