MICHAEL K. MITCHELL SR., 53, passed away December 4, 2010 in Swanville. He was born in Rockville, Connecticut October 30, 1957, son of Carleton and Edna (Maloon) Mitchell. He was U.S. Marine veteran who enjoyed fishing, hunting and target shooting. He enjoyed watching New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots.
He is predeceased by his mother and is survived by his father, Carleton Mitchell and wife Debra of Swanville; his children, Gina Mitchell of Rockville, CT, Michael Mitchell Jr. of Ellsworth, Carleton Mitchell of Ellsworth, Melissa Mitchell of Connecticut; siblings Donna Kamienski and husband Frank of Swanville, Dianne Fairbrother of Vernon, CT, Steven Mitchell of Florida; step-sister Paulette Desveaux of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 10th in the chapel at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. On-line condolences may be offered at www.ripostafh.com.
