Please share a memory of Eva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
DOVER, N.H. - Eva P. Cornellier, 86, died Dec. 7, 2010 at a Portland, Me., health care facility. She was born July 25, 1924, in Ayer, Mass., the daughter of Elie W. and Cedulie (Bellanger) Cornellier. Eva was a survivor of breast cancer, but suffered a stroke shortly after her birthday this year, and died of complications of the stroke and underlying heart problems. She worked for approximately 30 years as a Government Security Administrator with Honeywell Corp, a demanding job that involved working with U.S. Air Force bases across the country that used Honeywell equipment. Eva was a strong, personable and deeply spiritual individual who was blessed with many friends. She cherished her ability to live independently, and as a young woman traveled extensively. One of her most fond memories was of a trip with her late brother, Edmond, driving through England and Scotland in 1962. Eva had a lifelong love of music, from classical to hymns, standards and musicals. She delighted in nature, and her letters to friends and relatives communicated her awe as she experienced the wonder of her flowers, sunsets, birds and the changing seasons. Eva is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Woodward of Bangor, Me; three nephews, Mark and Bridget Woodward of Bangor, Edson and Sue-Ellen Woodward of Falmouth, Me., Matthew Woodward of Bangor; five nieces, Nancy Woodward of Portland, Mary Elizabeth and Frank Macklin of Shirley, Mass., Julie Ann and Gerry Wonkka of Pepperell, Mass., Suzanne Marie and C. W. Macomber of Ocala, Fla., and Catherine Louise and Timothy Griffin of Delray Beach, Fla. Eva was predeceased by her sister, Eliane M. Woodward, and brothers Arthur, Edmond and Henry Cornellier., and a nephew, Edmond Cornellier. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a date to be announced at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ayer, Mass, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
