JOHN “JACK” LITTLEFIELD, passed away peacefully December 24, 2010 after fighting a battle with a rare disease called Shy Drager. He is the only child of Jasper and Alice Littlefield of Guilford, now deceased. After graduating from Guilford High School in 1948, he joined the U.S. Navy and spent four years during the Korean Conflict, most of that time in Hawaii and Alaska. Jack was a parachute rigger and made fifty jumps during his training. He enjoyed all sports and was a good athlete in his younger days. While in the service, he had the privilege of playing baseball with players such as Sheckel Page, John Peskey and Don Larson. Returning home, he attended Husson College continuing to play sports. On October 6, 1952, he started working for Hardwood Products Co. After 54 years of service to them, he retired September 1, 2006. On May 8, 1952 he married his loving wife and best friend, Ramona (Ricker) Littlefield. They have three sons and one granddaughter, Kelly of Old Orchard, Kevin of San Diego, CA, Kyle of Exeter, NH, Kaley of Cambridge, MA. Jack and Mona spent 25 years vacationing in Aruba. They made many very special friends, some of which they would like to mention: Bill, Gail and Matt Sebet of Westwood, MA; two friends from the past, Bob Stewart of Sangerville and Eddie Bennett of Guilford. At Jack’s request there will be no funeral. A private memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at Alto Vista Chapel in Aruba at a later date.
